内容简介：The main theme of this talk is two-fold. First, I will give a brief introduction to the notion of Conley index and its fundamental properties. Second, I will show you how touse this topological index to discuss dynamic bifurcation problems. Applications to elliptic PDEs will also be addressed.
报告人简介：李德生，天津大学数学科学学院教授。主要研究领域是非线性微分方程和动力系统；非线性控制系统的动力学理论；非光滑系统分析，在包括《SIAM J Appl. Dyn. Systems》、《Disc. Cont. Dyan. Systems》、《J.Diff. Eqns.》、《SIAM J. Cont. Optim.》等动力系统领域顶尖期刊发表六十余篇学术论文，受到了国内外同行的关注与大量引用。担任一些重要学术期刊如美国数学会《Math Review》、德国数学会《Math. Z》评论员； 美国工业与应用数学会（SIAM）会员。获得许多基金的支持并培养博士生十余人。
